There will be a convention in my area in little more than a month, and there will be an artists alley. I had heard about artists alley from many of my DA friends, but I guess I had never really considered participating... until now.
But, since I have never joined one, I have many questions and I don't know who to ask...
I guess some things are different in each country, but I'd love to hear about your experiences and advice.

Is it worth it? Money-wise, probably not (from what I've heard) v_v I don't even have any ready prints, or any stuff to sell "physically" (except maybe original pictures I don't mind parting with? how much should I charge for an original picture?) So, I'd probably need to invest in prints, postcards and little things I could sell. It can cost a lot of money and I don't know if I'll sell anything.
But, at least, I can promote my art... I guess?

I'm considering it for the first time, but I don't know what to do. I've always attended conventions as a cosplayer, just to have fun. It's hard for me to think about going there to "work", and I'd be sad to miss the cosplay contest and other fun activities.
But I need to think about the future... I haven't been able to find a steady job in 7 years and my art is all I have right now. If it could help me with my career, I would give it a chance. And it would be a new experience!

Have you ever been part of an artists alley? How was the experience? Do you have any advice? Anything I shouldn't forget?
Also, if I were to make prints, postcards or posters, which of my drawings (original or fanart) would you like to see? Or popular characters I could draw before the con? Would you buy my art if you saw it at an artists alley?

I really don't know what to do, your advice is more than welcome!

Tana and Cormag from Fire Emblem 8: The Sacred Stones

My gift for Damoselcastel via Fire Emblem secret santa on Tumblr nagamas.tumblr.com/

I'm not very proud of this picture... the wyvern and the characters look kind of weird. I really wanted to draw this, but I went through a major art block during the holidays. But I'm happy because this is my first (completed) Fire Emblem fanart! Fire Emblem 8 is one of my favorite games and I really wanted to draw something like this.

Painted with watercolors.

Daryun by Alkanet
Daryun
Daryun (or Daryoon) from Arslan Senki - The heroic legend of Arslan

It's about time I drew some fanart from my favorite anime movie!

I watched the old Arslan Senki anime a long, long time ago (in the 90s) and loved it so much! I still know the first movie by heart and can repeat every line.
Daryun was my favorite character and has been my all-time fictional husband since then xD

By the way, the anime was based on the book series by Yoshiki Tanaka. Recently, a new manga adaptation by Hiromu Arakawa is being published, and there will be a new anime in April! I'm so excited about it, since I've loved these characters for so many years, and I want to share more adventures with them ^__^

(But this picture is based on the old anime designs by Sachiko Kamimura).

You know, I tend to be late with Christmas gifts because, in Spain, we exchange gifts on January 6th (the Three Wise Men bring them, instead of Santa xD) so... I forget that everywhere else people actually exchange gifts on Christmas Day xD But your birthday is a good excuse too! ;P
I hope you like it! alkanet.deviantart.com/art/Mar…
